Welcome to kidsonthemove.ca
This is the Web site for the now-concluded project entitled:
Child and Youth Friendly Land Use and
Transport Planning: Guidelines and Literature
Review.
This project was conducted for the
Centre for Sustainable
Transportation at the
University of Winnipeg. It was funded by the
Public Health Agency of Canada.
The project began in November 2007 and continued until March 2010. Its main objective
was to
develop sets of guidelines for municipal
transportation and land-use planners, one set for
each of Canada’s ten provinces.
The Guidelines have been developed as
tools for achieving transportation and land-use
arrangements that meet the needs of children and
youth — and everyone else.
If
we can build a successful city for children we
will have a successful city for all people. |

Peñalosa, former mayor of Bogotá, Colombia |
